ID Pouch Prototype

I’ve had a lot of people ask me this year if I offer a clip pouch that will fit their license / ID / credit card. And while I have a pouch with a clip, and a separate pouch that will fit those things, I didn’t have a bag that fit the bill.

UNTIL NOW!

Whoa, look at that thing!

I usually place the zippers so that the metal stopped will be included on the bag. But for these, to make them as small as possible, I chose to forgot the metal stopper for precious extra millimeters of zipper.

They’re just officially launching TODAY and I’ve already had requests for the clip to be centered, instead of at the top of the bag. But I’m working out a second style with a window on the front, and might save the centered clip for those.

Look at that credit card slide right in! Licenses and IDs also fit! And business cards! As well as money, coins, chap stick, a spare key, and on and on and on :)

Please let me know what you think, and keep a lookout for updates on the window pouches!

New in the Shop: Magnet Sets

I recently added magnet sets to the shop! I’ve been making wooden button magnets for a few years but I usually give them as gifts or keep them for personal use.

I used E6000 glue (the best glue) to secure 10mm neodymium magnets to the backs of wooden buttons. The magnets have a rounded edges so they are not supposed to scratch away surfaces or leave residue behind.

They come lightly taped to card stock and sleeved in a little zip-lock bag.

They can hold at least 4 sheets of paper and a greeting card. I use my own sets to hang takeout menus and invitations!

I haven’t decided if I’ll bring them to fairs and markets with me yet, so for now they can only be found online.

Find them in the housewares section! https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheTragicWhale?section_id=16516425

New in the Shop: XL Makeup / Project Bags

When I first introduced makeup bags to my shop, I made the bag patterns for 5 sizes: XS to XL. My original idea was to sell them as a nesting set (bet you didn’t know these were nesting bags!) but it seemed easier to categorize them by size and the Extra Large never made it to the shop. Until now!

I’m making them EXCLUSIVELY in my own fabric designs! I know this will limit the variety of them at first, but eventually the section will grow as my design library increases.

They can hold a full can of dry shampoo and a standing bottle of contact solution. They comfortably fit a skein of yarn with supplies. With that much room, there’s so much you can use them for!

New in the Shop: Pin Cushions

A few years ago, I made a pin cushion out of a plastic dinosaur. It was fun, and it quickly became my most-used pin cushion. I made an extra and put it in the shop, and since then have wanted to add more. So I (finally) did!

As an aside: most people know that it takes me AGES to finish projects for them. Like, YEARS. Like, HALF A DECADE. It’s one of the reasons I don’t like to take on custom orders for my shop. But even my own projects take me forever, so at least I’m consistent?

Anyway, I made a couple of dinosaurs:

And a couple of other animals:

You can find them now in the Housewares section!
