Cold-Blooded Maille! Check it out!

My friend (and partner in craft-fair crime) Peter has started listing jewelry in his etsy shop! This is really exciting for a couple of reasons.

1) Peter is an amazing artist and
2) now I can direct you to his work!

Because before I would be all, “Peter and I did a craft fair.”

But now I can be all, “Peter and I did a craft fair,” and I can hyperlink the shit out of  his name. Then you can click on it and see what you didn’t get to see at the craft fair you didn’t visit us at. OH WORD!

Check this bracelet out:

He opens and closes every single link to make sure that they are closed properly and closed tightly. He doesn’t want his work pulling apart and obviously neither do you.

This one is made with rubber rings, which makes it stretchy:

I have one like this and it’s great because I can get it on and off one handed (I struggle with clasps if I can’t use both hands, aha). Also, it’s neat and not very many people have one like it. And I LOVE having something that not everybody else has.

And he recently started making hacky sacks:

Awesome, right?!

I’m not saying you should go check out Cold-Blooded Maille. I’m just saying that you should go check out Cold-Blooded Maille. Because even if you aren’t into chain-maille jewelry, you have to admit it’s pretty awesome.

Whale mail

Over the weekend I received the cutest little package from my friend, Scott:

Almost as a bonus he triple wrapped it. And I love unwrapping things!

How cute is this guy? And what did I find inside?

Some of the most adorable whale note cards I have ever seen!

Thanks, Scott! I can’t wait to use them :)

mail mystery

It all began January 25th, when I featured this lovely brooch in a Wednesday Whale Love:

Then, on February 8th, I received a mysterious package in the mail. I opened it to find the brooch!

I tore into that envelope like it was the last Christmas earth would ever see. I had to pick the shreds off the floor and arrange them for this picture.

Looks even better in real life!

But who sent it?!

I wracked my brain, sent out a mass text, and spammed Facebook.

My first thought was that Pepper Spouts had sent it to me. Because they technically DID ship it to me, and there was no shipping receipt or note inside, this seemed like the most logical explanation. I then realized that made no sense because they don’t have my address! And why would they send me anything?

My next thought was that I had accidentally ordered it. I panicked. How could I have ordered something just by copying a link? Did my computer just KNOW my credit card number? Was plugging it in to every site I visit? How many more mystery packages would show up at my house?!

I realized this was probably impossible.

And lucky for my over-active imagination, Facebook let me know that my friend Danielle had sent it to me as a birthday gift.

Thanks again, Danielle!

Mystery solved.

Cam sends me a letter

And it is the BEST House of Leaves reference I have yet to encounter.
