Big and Little Jordan get matching capes.

My friend Kevin has a son who he named after our friend Jordan. In an attempt to make this less confusing, we refer to our friend as Jordan or Big Jordan, and Kevin’s son as Little Jordan. Little Jordan had a super hero themed birthday party this year and Big Jordan asked if I would help make them matching super hero capes. Naturally, I said yes!

Here’s Big Jordan working on the pattern.

I like to write out directions on all my patterns so I know what I’m doing next time I go to use them. Sometimes  though, I write so big and quick that I can’t read what I wrote later ahahahaa.

Thank goodness Big Jordan was taking pictures because after the first one I usually get too wrapped up in what I’m doing and don’t take another until the very end.

I got to sewing the velcro neck straps while Big Jordan worked on emblems.

What costume is complete without a mask?

Just like with my bags, we made the capes inside out to conceal any raw edges. I wanted Little Jordan to have a quality cape to last for years to come!

Big Jordan ironed everything out while I finished up the masks.

And presto, super heros! (Or super villains since we look a little villainy.)

Big Jordan went home and wrote “Hero Jordan” and “Sidekick Jordan” in the white spots. I guess the capes went over well because Little Jordan put it on right away and spent the rest of the party announcing that he was “Hero Jordan.”
