“The Secret” debunked?

I read “The Secret“. And then I threw it in the trash because I thought it was ridiculous. From what I remember, you basically just have to want something , tell yourself you’ll get it, believe that it’s already yours, not necessarily work for it, and then you get it.

You know, because that’s exactly how life works. Pffft.

OH, WAIT. But then I got my whale candy jar!

This whale and I first met at Target on New Year’s Eve. We locked eyes from across the aisle and I instantly fell in love. I wanted him, then and there.

“Get him!” My friend said. But I didn’t have anywhere to put him. “Who cares! Stick him in the bathroom! You have to have him!” We left without him.

4 separate times we went back, and 4 times we left without him. He was all I could think about. I even started dreaming about him.

A few times, I almost stopped on my way home from work to see if he was still in stock. But each time, for one reason or another, I didn’t stop.

I gave up. I figured he’d been marked down and was long gone.

Then last weekend, I came home to find a curious package on my desk. “To Kerry, from guess who! (Not your mom!)” it read.

I opened it carefully, at first thinking it might be a bomb (again with the irrational thinking. Why does my mind do this to me?!)  But it was him! It was my whale!

My mom’s friend picked him up for me! “The Secret” really works!

I like that he blends in with my walls, aha. I’ve been keeping zippers in him and my dad made them look like teeth.

He’s perfect!

He fits so perfectly with your room, it’s like he was made to live there.
