the tragic whale

Back at the beginning of January, I featured this link in a Wednesday Whale Love. It’s a watermelon cut to look like a whale! At the time I said, “I can’t wait ’til summer to try this out.”

But then I started planning a birthday party and I realized I didn’t have to wait until June as long as I could find a watermelon!

Done. Thanks to Dad for this one.

Of course we made it dead.

It was a huge hit! The only problem was that I cut the sides too low and fruit kept falling all over the place hahahahahaha. Oops.

Next time I’ll have to see if I can fashions a couple of flippers to the sides with the left-over rind.
