A few years ago, my brother shelled out some cash for us to have holiday pictures taken to give to Mom for Christmas.
Two things happened:
1) They were a huge hit!
2) She now expects them every year (but hasn’t gotten them since).
This year she said, “Kerry, I know you asked me what I wanted for Christmas [and I already said a bag, but not one you made, a store-bought one because I need a really sturdy one and you can't make that], and I was thinking. A family photo of you kids would be nice. For my Christmas cards. I have a coupon!”
And I said, “Ok, will you also schedule the appointment for us?”
Mom, “Well I’m not going to set up my own pictures. That takes away from the surprise.”
The surprise of the thing you asked for?!
Given how busy (Joey) / absent minded (me) / absent (Bob’s still in Belgium) my brothers and I are, photo shop seemed like the way to go.
Naturally, before I could unveil my genius, Joey put it on Facebook.
And that arm thing isn’t photo shop. Joey only has one arm.
